  • Congrats welcome and give it time it will sink in.   There are a lot of moms on here that had one and are adding 2 more.  GL

  • Congrats! The shock may not wear off for a while.. but you will totally be fine! 13 months ago, I had never changed a diaper before in my life, and now I have three 1 year olds, and its the best thing that ever happened to me. You'll get lots of support and good advice here!

  • congrats!

    don't worry - you'll do fine!

i have a 20 m/o and am pg with twins - my boss just had twins this year with a 2.5 y/o at home already- they are tired, but you make it work! :)

  • I totally understand the shock... I was there not that long ago :)  I was so scared and didn't know if I could do it and now I am so ecstatic and ready (ok, well not ready but... accepting?). It just takes time.  I try to remember that what is supposed to happen will no matter how you feel about it.
  • First off...Congrats and Welcome to the Club.  The shock does go away.  I don't have mine yet, but I wouldn't change being pregnant with twins for anything.  This board is great.  Please ask any and all questions.
  • CONGRATULATIONS!  You will LOVE this board, everyone is VERY helpful and friendly!
  • Twins are awesome.  It's hard, but totally worth it.  They are instant playmates and have a connection like we will never fully comprehend.

Give yourself a few days to let the news sink in!!!!!!! :)

    And congrats!

  • Congratulations! It took a while for the shock to wear off for me too; it's normal to have a whole range of emotions when you get the "multiples" news. But you've come to a good place for support; the ladies here are great. I also really recommend reading the book When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets or Quads by Dr. Barbara Luke.

  • Welcome and congrats on the exciting news. It will take time for the shock to settle down, I wont say it will go away because I still can't believe there are two girls in me that I get to meet on Monday. The women on this board are so wonderful and supportive, if you have any questions or concerns or even need to vent out your feelings we have all been there or are going through it. There really is something very special about carrying twins, it is an amazing feeling, even if it doesnt always seem that way. Congrats and good luck!

  • Congratulations. Before you know it, your fears will turn to smiles. I have about 6 weeks to go and I worry because I have a 4 year old daughter and a 5 year old son, how will I be able to manage all four at the same time? How do I get them all ready for an outing? How do I get them all in the van? I don't think I'll be able to carry two babies at the same time in their baby carriers! I know some how it will work out. You'll be okay, you're a Mom and that's what Mom's do, we take care of our children. Try not to stress about it. SmileSmile
  • First:  Congrats

You will def. feel overwhelmed in the months to come and even after they are here but it really is wonderful.  Just take it moment by moment.

  • Congrats and welcome!! I know exactly how you feel (well almost). My son was 28 months when we found out we were having twins.  No twins in my family either.  We have a 2 bedroom home, I have to work so daycare for 3 was scaring the crap out of me, how would I still give love to my son, etc., etc.  It has all worked out wonderfully, he loves his brothers, they are wonderful babies.  Its all worth it!!  Enjoy being pregnant with twins!!  :)
  • Congratulations!  It is a scary thing but you get through it and it is so worth it.... Look at hollyoid's siggy pic and that will melt your heart.
  • Hey, I hear you!  I am single, and just being pregnant was a shock.  But after a few days it was very exciting.  I loved telling everyone I was having tiwns, I loved "eating for 3", LOL.  But best of all, I have these two beautiful girls to share my love with.  It is hard at first, but you will do great.  Take all the help offered.  For some reason more people offer help more when there is twins!  So, always say yes.  This was hard for me, I have always been very independent.  But now I even ask for help. :)  Also, everyone who I have met in the last nine months who have twins keeps telling me it's all worth it, and it DOES get easier.  On average they all say it gets real easy after 2 years because they always have someone to play with.  For that I am truly grateful.  Good luck and get all the rest you can get now.
  • Congrats!!  I am trying not to worry about it too much and I just keep telling myself that if other people can do it so can we.  Hang in there.  I have found it to be such an amazing thing...thinking how blessed we are to have 2 babies at once!
  • Congratulations!

It's scary when you find out you are having more than one, and it's a lot of work, but it is totally worth it.  My girls are 15 months old, and their new thing is giving each other hugs.  They'll hug until one of them loses their balance and they fall over in a heap.  It's adorable.
