I just had to borrow money from my 8 year old in the grocery line

I was so embarrassed.  I was buying all of my Christmas groceries and stuff for dishes I am bringing to parties. I didn't expect to go over $100, but the diapers I bought after DH called and said we were low threw me over.  I was digging in the bottom of my purse looking for an extra $1.50.  Everyone was just staring at me and I really felt great when I had to make Joey give me his five dollar bill he had from chores.  "Just give me the money Joe.  I'll give it back to you as soon as we get home."  He acted like I do this all the time and he wouldnIn the mean time the baby was crying and Bella was trying to run and put a penny in the claw machine.

  • At least he was there to help you out (even if with an attitude).

I had an equally similar experience.  I ran in to the gas station on a whim to check for some candy for Zachary....they actually had what I was looking for (I wasn't expecting that since I have NEVER been able to find it in there).  Well I grabbed all that they had and then a couple more of a different flavor...got to the checkout...I was short some cash.  I thought I had my debit card with me...but didn't....so I had to put some of the candy back....and even then the cashier gave me the 34 cents change I needed.  EMBARASSING.  I was fully ok with taking off one more bag of candy, but he helped me out.
