I'm making an appointment to get BC and I'm wondering what your experience with Mirena was like.  Pros?  Cons?

    I've had my Mirena since the beginning of September.  I had some cramping the day I had it put in and I bled for awhile.  I can't remember how long.  It wasn't heavy bleeding, just some spotting and heavy spotting at times.  Other than that I've had no side effects.  It's so nice to have birth control that I don't have to think about.  I really like it.

    LOVE it....as I am sure you are MORE than aware , I am WAY too busy to ever remember to take a pill, so I decided to go this route...that and I get super bad migraines when on the bcp so my OB didn't want to put me back on it....I had some cramping the day it was inserted and light spotting for a couple weeks.

    So far so good. Getting it in was tricky -- turns out I have a small "everything" down there, so it took my OB three attempts to finally get it in place.

    I bled for awhile afterwards and had some occasional cramping, but all very tolerable.

    I was a little worried it might impact my milk supply, but it hasn't.

    Major bonus is not having to worry about pills daily.
