I hate it when people say "I can't name someone X because I know someone else who's cousin is named X and I hate her."
Okay, if you like the name, use it. My dog is named Trinity, after the character in the Matrix. My bro thought of the name and for the first week, "Trinity" was still the character in the Matrix. But now, if I ever watch the movie again, they're talking about my dog half the time.
Your connotations will change. What do you think you'll think of more, your child's name or some past co-worker's kid?
Re: Bad name connotations.
It seems to me that people hate names because of the negative connotations and would never think of using them.
