Well, I find that making a "baker's box" is always a hit. I've made cookie-themed ones (sugar cookie mixes, cookie cutters, various cookie decorations, a spatula, cookie paper, etc.). I've made brownie-themed ones (brownie mix, chocolate chips, chocolate frosting, PB chips, a brownie pan, etc.). I just did a cake one for our work exchange (Christmas Funfetti mix, tree-shaped cake pan, Funfetti Christmas frosting/sprinkles, holiday cupcake papers).

Maybe a wine set, we did this a couple of years ago. A nice in-expensive bottle of wine and a pretty set of wine glasses. I got one year from dh's company Christmas party a set of Martini glasses and a bottle of Cherry Vodka with a few drink recipes for the Vodka. Maybe a gift cert for a nice restaurant. or a movie basket, popcorn, blockbuster gift card.
