I found that motrin works better and last longer (8 hrs v 4 hrs for Tylenol). I also had concerns about giving Tylenol too much with recent studies regarding asthma in children.
(you can alternate Tylenol and Motrin every 4 hours, so if there is no improvement 4 hours after the last dose of Tylenol, you can try Motrin instead of waiting 6 hours to try Tylenol again)

as you can tell, most say motrin. however, tylenol and teething tablets work better for us. then again, i think DD likes the taste of tylenol better than the motrin :P
I actually called and asked the pedi this last week. They told me if just depends on your child. Tylenol was also not working for us so I gave her motrin and PEACE!!!!!!!! So I would also have to say motrin! And they also told me not to pay attention to the age on the motrin and tylenol but go weight wise. We were given the ok to use children's motrin and tylenol since DD is 27lbs.
Tylenol worked for almost every tooth until his molars came in. Now it does NADA! You have to find what's best for your child. Start with tylenol if that doesn't do the trick RUN to the motrin bottle!
Re: Tylenol or Motrin for teething? What works better?
