Get the "Elf on a Shelf"!  My cousin gave him to me at my shower and we love him! 

Your DC actually gets to "see" the elf in your home rather than the invisible Santa (who only comes for a brief visit on Christmas Eve/Day).

It's fabulous.. I can't say enough good things about it.

I may have to do this.  As I posted below, everytime I say Santa is watching she questions where he is and starts to look for him.  This would be much more effective!

It really is a cute idea   It works well and DD likes to look for him every morning when she wakes up. (we move him every day to a new place).
