OMG-it's snowing at our house! PIP's

I know this isn't a big deal to many of you who live in snowy climates, but we're in Southern CA and I have never seen such a thing in my life!  We've been up to the mountains to play in the snow, but I've never seen it actually come down before--this is really rare for our area.  It started coming down just as I got home from work, and I couldn't believe it. 

This is what our back yard looks like right now:

yay!  We are going to Big Bear Friday so they must be getting lots.  How cool!?  Must be pretty freakin cold though!

I heard there was snow near Pine Valley too. We are in so cal as well, and DH and I were thinking of going up to Big Bear on Saturday but I don't know if we needed snow chains or not. Did you guys need snow chains?

It's supposed to stop today/tomorrow.  I'm hoping by the weekend the roads will be plowed and clear.  Course I will be sitting in the car while DH is out there putting them on if we need them

Definitely check for road conditions before you go if you are not planning on having the chains in the car with you.  I'll stop if I see you...course I have no idea what you look like.

I agree with scuba! i hate snow, but i would be as excited as you are if i never got it! Do you have to work tomorrow because I can only image Californians trying to get around in snow!

I wonder what it will be like if it hasn't stopped/melted by tomorrow?  There's really no such thing as snow plows or anything around here.  We don't own tire chains.  Our puppy is freaking out and refuses to go out there, so we have to make her stay in the garage until she goes potty there, lest she explode.  This is so weird!

I'm off work tomorrow, but DH has to work.  I jokingly told him a few hours ago to ask his carpool buddy if he has tire chains to come pick DH up, but now it might actually be a legitimate issue!

How cool! Where are you in So Cal? We're in Vta. County and it's about 45 degrees here right now. We're heading to Ojai this weekend to let DD play in the snow there!
