my crazy first appointment

(please forgive how this is all over the place a bit - i c&p'd it out of an email)

at the beginning of my appointment, my blood pressure was through the roof (i was really nervous)...took it again up even more. they had me lie on my side and breathe.  she used the doppler while i was on my side and couldn't find anything so then i went on my back....still nothing. she asked if i was sure of my date...yes, very.  So then she tried to push up my uterus from inside and push down with the doppler...that was not pleasant. still nothing.  so i got an ultrasound!  we didn't get to hear the beat but seeing him flipping all around and seeing the heartbeat was absolutely amazing and just what i needed to stop being so crazy nervous all the time.  then they took my blood pressure with another cuff because she thought the other one was being a little wierd. it was absolutely fine. i have no doubt it may have been up a little bit but they seemed alarmed.

Phew!  I was holding my breath until the end of that post.  I thought you were going to say something was wrong.  Thank God everything is ok!  Is is THE greatest thing to see the baby and his/her heartbeat.  Just wait - it only gets better!!!

I'm so glad everything turned out OK!

Did you cry a little at the ultrasound?  I know I teared up everytime when we were able to hear the HB.  It's the great sight and sound in the world!

Glad to hear that things ended up working out great.  Definitely exciting that you got to sneak a peak at the baby.  I noticed that you said "him" but obviously you don't know yet.  Do you have a feeling it's a boy?

yes, DH & I definitely teared up.  It was such a relief for me especially but he was so sweet and kinda rubbed my head while we were watching.  I definitely thing it's a boy too.  I haven't had any morning sickness and since i was using the cbefm, i know the only day we did it was the day I ovulated so that makes it like 70/30 chance of boy (according to the one set of stats)
