I would have to say before while you are growing.  I never went through labor the first time and my hips did widen.  You may be one of the lucky ones that this doesn't happen to, but I had to buy different jeans after I lost all my baby weight b/c I didn't like the fit around the  hips anymore.

i was seriously going to post the same question today!! DH keeps telling me that my hips are going to widen, but i dont see how thats possible

My hips have gotten wider.

mine got wider during/after delivery and never went fully back down to where they were.

I think mine spread many weeks ago.  I had to stop wearing pre-pregnancy jeans before I gained more than a few pounds so something must have shifted.

Mine got wider - I think near the end of my pregnancy b/c that is when they really started to hurt.

I lost all the weight after 2 mos, but it was another month or so before my slimmest jeans would fit b/c my hips were still wide.  They did return to normal, but for many women they stay a bit wider.

My hips have gotten wider...I thought it was just my butt getting bigger!

I think my hips have gotten wider dh said they were the same but I think he was just scared to tell me the truth.

Mine got wider befor I even had a belly. I had really small hips to start so that might make a differance.

I have wide hips and they are getting wider! I can tell because I don't fit in my car's driver seat the same way I used to- and I have growing pains in my pelvis.

I take this as a good sign!

I had wide hips to begin with and mine have gotten a little wider. I can confirm this because I took before and after measurements. lol  I just hope they go back to where they were before, because I seriously don't need the help in the hip/butt dept.
