MY neighbor vent

ugh!! I have a neighbor who generously sits in her car and honks the horn for her two teenage daughters to take them to school at 6am...even in warm weather- why does she have to go out there and wait? why not all go to the car together- at least when it is warm?!

it isn't like she's a nice mommy- she won't let her kids have keys to the house, and when she isn't there ( most of the time,) they are locked out- even in the cold!! I am not sure why she has to drive them to school, they walk home and then sit on the porch until she shows up every day...

or if it is freezing: they come to MY door. and I don't like unexpected guests - especiaqlly ones who stay for hours trying to call their mom ( whose excuse is always that she "fell asleep at her friend's house...(?)-but I HAVE to let them in, because I feel SO sorry for them. and the 14 year old sleeps in the unfinished basement with ( I'm not sure how many) litter boxes that you can smell from OUTSIDE, and she always smells like cat crap! they have 7 cats...

should I call CPS? or am I just a b!tch...

Re: MY neighbor vent

  • what set me off is that I was trying to take a nap while my kid was sleeping this afternoon, but GUESS why I didn't get to...

I realize it isn't THER fault- it is their horrid mother's...

    Love,

BoF (the b is for BOO-HOO)

  • Aww, I think it's sweet that they come over to the big old PG ladies house.

And yes, I would call CPS. All they would do is pay a visit, it's not as though they are going to take the kids away, they will check things out and see if there needs to be a further investigation.

  • Loading the player...
  • Psst, and it's THEIR. not THER. ::smooches::
  • But that's how I pronounce it! Therrr! ( just kidding that actually REALLY bothers me)

it is more the kid living in cat crap that bums me out...I walked her home the other day, and therrr basement is the kind you enter from outside, and when she opened the door- HOLY CRAP! It smelled SO bad I almost gagged.

    fierce.

you really think cps? I hate to be the busybody-I hate to see a kid suffer- but I just feel weird...

  • Oh, man. What a shitty situation to be in (literally and figuratively). You are a super-smeller, though, so maybe the basement smells normal (or not quite so gag-worthy) to a non-super-smeller. I don't know.

Um, I don't know what I'd do in your situation, to be honest. I guess I'd probably post here like you're doing and see what other people thought because I'd have no idea. But that sucks for those poor kids and for you (I hate to be dropped in on, too).

hmmmm- you're right, that had not even ocurred to me. Today when I opened the door to MY house the first thing I smelled was cat feces...but it was like..on her clothes or something, because she brought the lovely aroma in with her...

  • Cat feces aside, that's insane that the mom just leaves them for hours to fend for themselves with no way to get into their own house.

  • I would call. Seriously. The kids being out in the cold for any length of time is just not ok.

  • I think tomorrow I will place an anonymous call...I just hope I am not making matters worse...
