New Siggy Pics (one w/ doll)

Hi everyone,

I've changed my siggy for Christmas to include a picture of DD last Christmas in the NICU with her NICU approved micro-preemie Christmas outfit and one with her this year in front of the tree with her Remember Me Preemie doll in her lap.  The doll is wearing her NICU Christmas outfit from last year.

Re: New Siggy Pics (one w/ doll)

  • I should say that the doll is her birth weight and length but she was born 11/13.  Her NICU puicture was taken about this time last year and she had filled out more in that month, so the NICU outfit is bigger on the doll than it is on DD in the NICU shot.
  • i love it! ?thanks for sharing.

  • So cute!   Where did you get the doll?   I would like to get one for each of my girls to show them just how small they were!

  • Hi SaucySarie,

I got the doll online through Kim Crabbs website www.remembermepreemie.com.  They are expensive, but I LOVE ours!  And ours was a gift for Christmas from Grandma so we didn't bear the expense.  She has lots of options to choose ... skin color; skin texture; hair or not; bent or straight legs/arms; posable fingers or not; sculpted, painted or no face at all, anatomically correct, and on and on.  You can also get their real weight or a "feels right" weight.  The feels right weight is less than actual and is meant to represent the fact that the baby would support some of its own weight and so would feel lighter in your arms.  We got actual weight and it does feel a little heavier than I might have imagined, but it is her true weight and it doesn't feel off.  When I cradle her to me like I did when I kangarooed she feels fine.  HTH

  • Thanks everyone for your comments!  I wish the pictures looked a little better and you could see more of the doll!
  • Wow, the changes are amazing.  She's beautiful.
  • The changes are totally amazing - wow!!  That makes me want to get a doll...it would be fun to see the changes visually.

Your daughter is beautiful and so big in comparison to that doll!!  Good job Mom!
