I conceived naturally, I kinda figuired that when and iof I ever got pregnant again that it would be because of the saying that when they run in your family you can have them too..and my dad is a twin and DH has twin brothers!
I got pregnant naturally with identical and found out about the two at 6w. It would have waited until my next appt at 9w, but I was all ready sick and in the hospital. Twins man... I had no *** clue and was not terribly happy when we found out! Things were really bad for me in the health department for a looooong time but once the babies were born, it was all good.
My 9 week appt is when we found out about our twins. We weren't even trying at the time. No twins on either side of family, but DH always thought it was twins for some reason.
I was 15 weeks when I found out and I don't think she knew how to tell me it took her 10 minutes before she turned the monitor around to me and I covered my eyes!
My 1st pg was spontaneous twins, found out at our 6 wk sono...m/c at 8wks. 2nd pg also spontaneous twins, found out also at 6 wks sono...I was not very excited since I had prev lost twins. So, I'm a freak of nature?
Our twins are spontaneous and we found out about them just before I was 16 weeks. At my first appt I was 5 weeks and the u/s only showed one sac, my second appt was around 10 weeks. At that appt my dr listened to the heart rate with the doppler and had no reason to think about searching for a second. I had an u/s just before 16 wks and the u/s tech right away looked and said there are twins. We were completely shocked and even though I am days away from delivery it is still hard to believe.
Mine are identical, conceived naturally. They saw only one at out 6w ultrasound, but at out 11w ultrasound it was quite a surprise! We had absolutely NO idea! It was quite a shock!
we found out at our first ultrasound, at 7w2d. just a routine u/s that my OB did for everyone to rule out ectopic pgs. i had no suspicion that it was multiples. heck, i had no m/s or anything, so i kind of wondered if i was even still pregnant!
We found out at a routine sono at 8w to date the pregnancy. No clue or symptoms at all - although DH did casually mention "Watch it will be twins and they'll both be girls."

Mom to Abigail & Liliana -- Identical Twin Girls -- April 2008 Baby #3 due September 12, 2014!
We have spontaneous boy/girl fraternals. We found out at our first u/s to date the pregnancy. It was a total surprise since we have no twins on either side of the family. I guess the super intense morning sickness could have been a tip off but it was so off our radar that we were totally shocked.

We found out at our first ultrasound at 10 weeks. I wouldn't have found out until 20 weeks, but I had some spotting so they did an early ultrasound to make sure everything was ok. DH had always joked about wanting twins so at least the word had been mentioned numerous times. We don't know if they are identical, but most likely fraternal since they are dichorionic/diamniotic. I had really bad m/s starting early at like 5w and the ultrasound tech seemed a little shockec the doctor hadn't mentioned my levels being unusually high.
we struggled with IF. ?conceived dylan and cassidy with the help of gonal-f, ovidrel, and IUI. ?i had tried clomid 4 times, no luck, and IUI as well, but the injectibles did the trick for us. ?
My doc does ultrasounds at your first appt for dating, so I think it was around 8 weeks. I had terrible morning sickness that kicked in around 6 weeks - two weeks earlier than with DD and twice as bad. I joked that it meant that there were two, but I was completely joking - I was shocked to see that I had been right.
Around 8 weeks, I was beginning to show and I thought this was odd since it was my first pregnancy so for a fleeting moment I thought, could it be two? I also told my cat when I just found out I was pregnant "you are getting a brother and a sister", rather than 'or'. How's that for a sign?
No twins in family; they are almost 7m old and we are still in shock.
We conceived naturally and found out at the 6 week u/s...for some strange reason I wasn't surprised...I kind of suspected after our m/c I would get pregnant with twins...
We conceived our girls spontaneously. They are fraternal. We found out at my 8 wk appt. My Dr. did an u/s to confirm a heartbeat since I had a miscarriage 2 months earlier and we saw a dark spot so she kept looking and I thought it was my bladder. So my DH says, what's that and she looks at us and says "that's your other baby". Both of us were in complete shock and basically started laughing. We were just praying for a heartbeat and we had two. It's such a great memory.
Ours were a total surprise! Found out at my first OB appt at 8w. Didn't even bring my hubby along to that appt because it was our second and I thought it would be a boring, uneventful appt. How wrong was I?!?!
I found out at a routine 9 week u/s that our doc does as standard practice. She turned and said, "ummm, I have news for you." I was thinking she was going to say that I was farther along than she expected or somethign like that...but she said there were two. I about fell off the table. It was my husband's birthday that day and he was with me...I think he might have cursed in shock! We were in such shock. I don't think I even heard another word the u/s tech said for the entire 20 minutes she was checking them.
Conceived "spontaneously" and no symptoms. In fact, so far, this pregnancy has been more symptom-free than my singleton pregnancyl.
I wouldn't have found out until 20 weeks. Most low-risk pregnancies in this area only get ONE ultrasound around 20 weeks.
At my second doctor appt, a nurse practioner was using the doppler to find the heartbeat. She was a little concerned with the symptoms I was explaining (some pains). She said the symptoms were too early...so not to be too upset if we didn't hear a heartbeat..she was thinking ectopic. She then found two heartbeats beating 20bpm differently. She sent me in the next day for un u/s to see if it was an "echo" or twins. uhhh....okay! Longest 24 hrs of our lives!
we said it HAD to be an echo....um...no.
BTW - the u/s tech who spoke very broken english first told us they were CONJOINED...then her manager type person came in and said, no...they just seem to be in the same sac (cuz they were kinda hugging). This was in the 15th week. We found out the following week they were mono/mono and BOYS. (we only knew for sure because the cords were knotted)
We have fraternal boy / girl twins. We found out at 8.5 weeks due to some spotting issues. I remember watching the sonogram tech's face closely during her initial assessment - I was hoping everything would be ok with our baby and the spotting wasn't the result of a miscarriage. She looked very carefully at the screen and then says "what do you think about two?" I remember saying "BABIES?!?"...TOTAL SHOCK to say the least! But definitely a blessing.
We conceived spontaneously as well. ?At 7w6d we went in for our first appointment, just to date the pregnancy. ?I had joked w/ H that it was twins because I already couldn't button my pants and my m/s was AWFUL. ?But it was my first pregnancy- I really didn't know what was "normal". ?It was just a joke. ?Anyway, God love my doctor, she did the u/s, showed us our "baby", left the room and had me get dressed, then came back in and rubbed my knee while she told me it "looked like" there were 2 babies. ?I told her to shut up. ?(Then apologized profusely!) ?I came in the next day at 8w to have an u/s on a larger machine with a tech who confirmed!?
Ours were spontaneous but yet we think they are fraternal. This is strange because there are no twins in our family as far back as our family tree shows and my cousin keeps the record as a hobby. She has our family traced back to the 1st Crusades. Fraternal twins are a genetic anomaly, so we think our guys COULD be semi-identical (split very early on and developed everything separately) but it's just a theory and we aren't going to try to find out. They look too fraternal to really bother.
We had no idea, and I thought the Peri was teasing/lying when he told us there were two.

by the way Congrats!!!!?
Zeidy?
I found out at my 11 week U/S and then a week later that they were identical... no clue there were two in there!

Baby #3 due September 12, 2014!
Found out fraternal twins at 9w.

No twins in family; they are almost 7m old and we are still in shock.
My OB does an u/s on first visit to date the pregnancy. I found out at 7w we were expecting spontaneous identicals.
Spontanous triplets here! We found out it was triplets at 8 weeks 2 days.
My husband told me he wanted it to be twin girls (before we knew we were having three). Then we had two idencical girls and a boy!
I have fraternal twins and we found out at an early ultrasound due to some spotting (6 weeks). I did not suspect twins at all.
