2nd Trimester

Still throwing up?

I am entering my 17th week. This is my first pregnancy and it hasn't been easy with all day sickness and being on medical leave for almost 3 months. My question is anybody still throwing up even though the nausea is pretty much gone? I am just getting so frustrated and so tired of throwing up :(

Re: Still throwing up?

  • I have still been getting pretty sick.  Zofran has been helping a little, but I think it's just now starting to get better ::knock on wood::

  • Sorry you are still sick. The last time I got sick was end of week 16 beginning of week 17.

  • I am, and I'm at 21 weeks today.  The DR wrote me an Rx for Phenergan and that helps but makes me sleepy.

  • I do if I don't take my zofran...I don't just throw up though, I can't even drink water without throwing it up.  Are you able to still eat normally?

Trust me, I feel your pain!

  • one other thing...zofran doesn't help me withnausea, just the vomiting
  • I've thrown up since I got BFP and am continuing to do so. I just started taking Zofran and it is helping, today is the first day that I've felt like a human since getting pregnant.

I agree, not throwing up, just slightly nauseated still.

  • mine is back in full force... it effing sucks.
  • I was getting sick most mornings before work until week 18.

Now at 20 weeks I still feel a little sick in the mornings until I eat... but none of the constant nausea and dry heaving.

I'm now noticing that unlike before when I'd throw up if I wasn't eating enough/frequently enough I'm now throwing up when I eat too much.

  • I have only thrown up maybe twice this pg and it was only in the first tri.

Keep yourself hydrated and keep at least a small amount of food in your stomach...that is what I learned from my first pg and it has made all the differance for this pg

  • I am allergic to zofran so I have had to ride it out on my own. Eating has been a major challenge for me and drinking enough water. I was living off cup o noodles for a while but now I have ensure and I have been eating more fruits and vegetables and the only meat I can have is bacon or salami (heated up of course). I can't take my prenatals because they make me very sick I just hope my baby will be ok I worry about it a lot!

    Thanks for your post!

  • I'm still throwing up nearly everyday and am nauseous almost all of the time (its like being perma-carsick) - Zofran worked to an extent, but I quit taking it because it started giving me migraines that would make me nauseous anyway. So I feel you on riding it out, especially since nothing seems to help mine (and I've tried literally everything suggested).
  • I am 25 weeks and still get sick many times a week.  It is so fusterating, but I just keep trying to remind myself what I get out of it :)
  • I am and I am at 20 weeks.  The nausea is gone but I will spontaneously get sick.  Really attractive!  The doctor said it could be an extreme case of heart burn.  I wish I had better news for you, like it is almost over.  People told me that when I was at 17weeks but they lied!
