I am undecided on this. The boys really don't show much interest at school. At their "school" they look at the train table for like 5 minutes and then run to play with the kitchen.
So here are my questions.....does anyone have experience with their kids not liking something in a setting like daycare/school etc, but really liking it at home? Or should I take their cues and not bother?
Also, does your 2 year old play with Geotrax? It seems like it would get boring to push a button and watch the stuff move, but maybe not?
Re: Do 2 year olds like Geotrax and traintables?
I definitely believe that many 2yos like the above but probably not all. DD does show consistency in the things she gravitates to at school and the things she gravitates to at home. Mostly dolls, trains, music.
DS got Geotrax for his 2 y/o birthday and he likes it a lot.
He gets into play mode where he puts the trains on the track and makes them go and watches with interest. He also gets in destructo mode where he loves to tear the track apart. And he gets into creative mode where he makes the trains go over other surfaces (for example the kitchen floor, the couch or my desk). It's the toy he plays with the most (meaning he's been interested in it for 6 months now). We got a few extra trains from Craig's List so he has several to play with.
My one advice is to get rechargable batteries! Those trains drain batteries like you would not believe!
