Another Puking Kid Question...

DD#2 has started throwing up.  She has an ear infection and has been really congested.  Also her antibiotics specifically warn that they might upset the stomach and suggest taking with food.  Problem is the poor thing is so miserable and it hurts to swallow, I can't get her to eat anything.  I can barely get her to BF.  I know it's just the drainage and medicine upsetting her tummy.  (The medicine was the first thing to come up.)  What can I give her that she might eat that will settle her stomach so I can get her meds in her?  Any ideas on what she might eat?  Would yogurt help or make it worse?  Crackers if I could get her to eat them would probably help the most, right?  I need to get something in her stomach so her medicine doesn't upset it again, but I can't seem to get her to eat.

Re: Another Puking Kid Question...

  • Cheerios have been a miracle food for us the last three days. It's the ONLY thing he hasn't thrown up. Anything dairy seems to make it worse for mine.
  • I'd avoid yogurt.  My experience as well as my ped's rec. is to keep dairy out of the diet for a day or two after all vomiting / diarrhea have stopped.  Anytime I reintroduce it to early, it gets puked back up.
