We are currently calling ours Beaner, as in, it looks like a bean at first. When we find out we'll of course start calling it their name. What do you call yours?
I've seen all of the nn that people have on here (peanut, monkey...) and have decided that we're horrible un-original. Yes, 17 w in, we're still referring to it as 'da baby'.?
Gertrude or Gerty.... lol, don't ask where it came from, cause I have NO IDEA. We just started calling her that, even before we knew she was a girl... poor kid...
At the start of both pregnancies we used the name peanut (that is what the first u/s looks like) then with DD#1 her nickname changed into angel (she is moma's little angel) so far with DD#2 we have just called her by her name Sienna.
usually, we just call it "the baby" but recently my BFF started calling it "critter" and that seems to be sticking since DH & I found ourselves using "critter" to refer to it several times this week.
Dh and I usually just call it baby, or baby girl Cain (our last name). My best friend, sister and I nicknamed it Baby Baller (long story) before we found out that it was a girl, but now we call it Baby Ballerella.
This morning my dh wanted to call it Raechel b/c he is upset that everytime he tries to feel her move, she stops or is sleeping. My name is Raechel and I like to sleep a lot!
We know we are having a boy, but still most of the time call him the baby. Before we knew we were having a boy we said baby or monkey. Sometimes when he is really active and I am trying to sleep I call him a little monster, but mostly the baby or baby boy. I still cant really use his name it seems weird to me.
We call ours the Shrimp. My husband is a chef and when we saw the pictures- you know when it still has a tail- he thought it looked like a shrimp. I am just glad it looks more like a baby than an appetizer.
We called him Little Bear before we found out the gender (we went on a hike in the Smokies and saw a bear the day he was concieved!). Now we are calling him Little Jack until we decide on a name (DH's dad's name is Jack) and I hope it sticks because I love the name Jack.
Our's is really dorky, but we've been calling the baby Paddles. I was reading to DH about the development a few weeks back and it said the baby basically had paddles for hands and feet, and he started calling him/her that. It just stuck!
We mostly call her "the baby" or refer to her as "she." We've just started to use her name, but we don't want to get in the habit and let it slip in front of people (we're keeping her name a secret from family & friends)!
Re: What is your nickname for the baby?
The gummy bear, or the monkey.
We'll find out next thursday what we're having, but we'll still have to talk in code because DH's family wants it to be a surprise.
we had a bunch of nicknames..
the one that stuck until we decided on a name was blue (from the time he was the size of a blueberry)
my sister for some reason called him Winden, and my brother named him norman from the get go.
we now call him by name...Bowie, or Bo

I love this - he totally needs a red and white striped shirt and a red beanie for his first pictures
(I guess I think you are having a boy :P )

We call our little one Walnut. DH thought peanut was to commonly used so he picked a different nut.
Even after we found out it was a boy and gave him a name we still call him Walnut instead of Miles.
My family, friends, and I call the baby lil' muffin even before we found out she was a girl.. I just knew it was a girl from the beginning! YAY
That's hilarious! I should see if I can find something like that:) Boy or girl, I still think it would be funny.
Lil Boom. As a joke I said we would name the baby Boomer (our last name rhymes) so I call it lil Boom now.
we're irish. lucky charm flanagan LCF
