Do you tip for flowers?

I never thought about this until there was a deliverly for one of the teacher's birthday and I answered the door.

Do people normally tip when flowers are delivered?

I would think no, bc a lot of people don't know they are getting them?

I was thinking about this the other day...  I feel like I should (but haven't), but you don't tip the fed ex guy so how is it different?

I tip for special flower arrangements that I have made, but not when they are delivered to me. Sometimes they are just delivered by random companies, and I agree with TTCgrad, you wouldn't tip the fedex guy.

I worked in a flower shop for 5 years, and went to school for floral design.  Just like any other delivery person you are supposed to tip, but people rarely do.

OK, yeah that's what I was thinking.  He kindd looked at me as if he was waiting. 

But yeah, not giving you a tip, those are NOT for me, and I didn't order them.

I think this is a good distinction: if I order arrangements for a party or whatever, yes tip.  If they are a gift to me, not tipping.

No- their job is deliveries, but unlike the pizza guy, they don't get tipped.
