Mine is to TRY and take a shower everyday. I totally realize it won't happen, and some weeks it will be days before I get a shower, but I'm really going to try for it. I have super thin hair and after 1 day, it gets all dreadlock-ish if I don't shower.
What are you unrealistic after baby plans?
Re: Poll: your unrealistic after baby plans
Um...
1) Take the NY bar exam
2) Train for a half-marathon in the fall... I've always talked about doing one and never did it, so what better time?
3) Try to keep the baby from waking my mom up at night (our lease is up at the end of May and we're moving in with my mom for a few months before we move to the East Coast)
I'd settle for 2 out of 3 I guess!
I would say that after the first week or two...my plan is to take a shower every day and get ready for the day. again...laughable..but a girl can plan to look presentable...
sniffer my love- you know i love you dearly- but i think that a daily shower is a very realistic expectation. I can shower in under 5 minutes, i don't like to get in bed without showering- i know i have no clue what i am in for so am not saying 'of course you can' b/c i would prob. get flamed by those who are actually moms- but i can't imagine not being able to make 5 minutes when eric is around, or baby is sleeping in the carrier (in the bathroom within site) for me to hop in and hop out
my nonrealistic expectation (besides body issues) is getting in plenty of sleep i think... i would love to nap when baby naps and the like, but have issues with spurts of sleep and know there will be a million other things to do during that moment (clean, cook, laundry, shower
)
Proud mama to a boys- 6/17/09 - a girl 2/23/11- and a boy 8/20/12
I know mom's who got showers in--
.. but I guess that is up to each's schedule, help available, and baby behavior.
But I would say, losing baby weight in 3 months (even though it took 9 to put on) and making dinner every night.
I had no problem taking a shower everyday after having DD...just make sure you have a bouncey seat and you can bring her in the bathroom with you.
and my unrealisitic plans...get down to pp size...before having dd hahahaha.
1. Write a thesis and complete my MA
2. Exercise like crazy as soon as I'm cleared by my MW
3. Keep my house free of all that plastic baby clutter I despise so much
Short-term: Stay on top of laundry and cleaning. Do enough planning for groceries and meals that we only have to eat or order out once a week MAX.
Mid-term: Successfully return to my FT job and not lose my mind.
Long-term: Go on vacation with an 8-month old to Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics.
How dare you say showering everyday is realistic! Hehe..
Actually, I did shower pretty much everyday after DS was born, he slept A LOT the first few weeks, and the only days I didn't shower, I just couldn't get off the couch to do it, mainly because I was tired, not because of DS being awake. But I would say that I showered 6 out of 7 days, at least. I just felt icky all the time, especially the first few weeks.
AND I went down to the basement to shower, with the baby sleeping alone upstairs. Gasp! I never saw the need to take the sleeping baby into the bathroom with me. Maybe when he was awake, but heck, if he was sleeping, he stayed wherever he was when he went to sleep.
I may have just gotten lucky with DS, but I don't know. I guess I will find out in March!
Mine is to be fairly close to pre-pregnancy weight a month after Little Dude is born... I'm a bridesmaid in my SIL's wedding, and everyone is totally expecting it. Even the lady at David's Bridal said I should be a six. (I was a 4-6 before pregnancy.)
Augh! No pressure!
- Have all the laundry done on a weekly basis in one day for a house of 4
- Cook dinner every night for Dear family
- Exercise 3-4 times a week
- Get 8-10 hours of sound sleep a night
- Win the lottery to pay for the children's college funds
- Wash my car every Saturday morning-by myself-with no problem
- Graduate school at the top of my class 2 weeks after DS arrives!
That's a hefty list I must say!!As weight loss goes I lost ALL pregnancy weight the day after DD was born so I hope this happens again!
I know Carly, I'm also a speed showerer, so I'm assuming it CAN be done. I just read on 0-6 months about moms who haven't showered in DAYS.
:::note to self about bouncy seat in the bathroom:::
To get my pre-pregnancy body back in less time than last pg!
Last time it took me about a year to loose all the weight and get to the point where I felt like me again. This time I want it to be a lot faster.
To have my stomach go immediately back to flat after delivery.
To stay home with the baby......permanently.

For all hell and chaos not to break out. ?
To have a somewhat peaceful and organized, clean-enough home. ?
For my dd to like her new sibling and not have major adjustment issues.?
To have a helpful husband who won't get frustrated easily.
For my nipples not to bleed.?
To sleep.?
And of course to lose the weight.?
And not become too frumpy.?
My unrealistic plans are to get a jogging stroller and take DD and baby out every day in a stroller so I can get my exercise (Maybe I'll take the dog too. No problem, right?) Then I can lose weight and get rid of this flabby butt I've built up.
I'll also keep the house clean for DH when he comes home and while home on maternity work on the book that I've always wanted to write.

1. To not go overboard purchasing clothes/toys/baby items that DC will only use a short time.
2. To not wear a track suit/workout clothes (when not working out) more than once a week.
To be pre-baby size prior to being the MOH at my friend's wedding in November.
To peacefully avoid all child-rearing arguements with MIL.
