2 year old girl for sale

DD1 is totally acting out today, which is very unlike her.  I know it's because of DD2.  She's not sleeping like she used to, and today, it took me over an hour to get her down for her nap.  I'm tired and cranky too, which isn't helping.  DD2 seems to be the only one in the family not affected by all this!!!  My DH is even sleeping in a different room now.

So, I'm kinda wondering how long it takes to get back into the groove of "normal" life after bringing another baby into the world?!?  Please tell me it's sooner rather than later, otherwise I might sell my first born for some peace and quiet around here.

  • I'll take her.  Maybe she can keep my first born occupied while I try to get some work done...since not sleeping seems to be the new trend.
  • This post reminds me of a Shel Silverstein poem called "Sister for Sale".

  • Same thing happened to us with N.  Thank god it didn't last long!  He did the sleep thing, but it only lasted a little over a week.  As far as his attitude that lasted a little longer, but he was back to his sweet self by around 2 months pp.  Love your new siggies!!

Ha!  Yours too?!  What is with these girls?!  I almost had to resort to CIO for a nap, which I haven't done in about a year.  She's yelling at me, throwing stuff, and just being icky in general.  I know it's an adjustment, but I just don't have the patience for it this week!  Bad mommy, I know....

I hope yours does better when baby brother arrives!

  • Sum--I'll take her too! :) maybe EMT and I can alternate weeks or something. ?;)

the two of them are just gorgeous!?

  • Since I already dreamed you had her ready for me to pick up ship her to me. Amarah would love a playmate.

  • My girls are 21 months apart and my older DD did great when the baby came home.  She is acting out more now that the baby is 9 months old and moving around some.  She is showing signs of jealousy which I thought I'd be dealing with a lot sooner.  Nothing to terrible but I can tell when she needs some one on one attention from me.  It does get easier.  I found the 1st 3 months to be the hardest.

  • I think it just becomes a new normal, you know? ?Which is to say, you'll just kind of get used to the suckiness, and it won't really bother you anymore. ?My 2.5 y/o, for example, DOESN'T NAP AT ALL ANYMORE.

But it really gets betters-- easy, even, within weeks :)?
