When did you start showing? I'm wondering if it's worth taking advantage of holiday clothes sales for warm stuff, or if I won't need much winter maternity wear.
I started wearing maternity pants around 12ish weeks, but I could also still fit in my own pants using the button trick at that point. I'd say that I wasn't really "showing" until around 4.5 - 5 months. I guess I should note that I was never really that big. In August no one could believe I was due in September.
I think around 12-13 weeks I started showing (just a little bump though) -- that was beginning-mid December. I got pretty big pretty fast though, but it was mostly "all belly" as they say, and I carried high. I wore most of my regular pants up until 5-7 months, depending on the style, because of the Bella band. And my longer winter shirts worked just fine too.
I was due July 29. I started wearing maternity pants for comfort at the end of January, and needed maternity shirts for length in Feb. So, if cold weather lasts through April, you'll probably make good use of them. I didn't like the Bella bans, so I probably wore maternity pants longer than some people. I would definitely stock up on any work clothes like pants that you'll wear all the way through.
I didn't start showing or need maternity pants until after my 20-week ultrasound. I think everyone is different. I got the bella band though...that helped with wearing my regular clothes longer.
I started wearing maternity pants around 14-15 weeks. I don't think i was necessarily showing, but they were so much more comfortable with what little baby belly I had and the baby bloat.
