crockpot broken again!

argh!  I am so mad.  I heard this loud 'pop' coming from the kitchen.  Sure enough, it was from the crockpot.  This is the second time the ceramic crock has cracked.  (say that five times fast)

I called customer service and they're sending another crock.  I just wish they'd replace the entire thing.  Seriously.  Dinner is ruined.  She said if it happens again, they'd replace the entire crockpot.

I've never had so much trouble with a crockpot.  I wouldn't be so upset if this were a cheap one but it wasn't!

It's kitchenaid.  I'm super mad.    Would you feed your family the food that is cooking in a pot that cracked?  I'm scared of there being glass/ceramic shards in it.

There probably shouldn't be shards - the crock is mostly stone and glazing. However, if the food came into contact with the metal casing, I wouldn't like that very much. Maybe not from a safety issue, but at least from a yuck factor.

Do you have problems with it overheating the food? I find it very strange that it would crack a crock more than once.

haha!  She loves crockpots.  Perhaps I should page her and ask for her advice.
