Dexamethasone (decadron) for PCOS?

Anyone ever taken it before?  I know it's a steriod, I just have never heard of it used for PCOS.

The nurse of my RE was talking about this after I asked her what's next after Clomid as I'm not ovulating with that.  (I'm on Met too and provera for AF).

 Just wondering if anyone has heard of taking this before.

Did they tell you why they have you on it? I am on it...0.5mg Dexmethasone for elevated levels of DHEAS which is a type of testostrone. I have to be on it for 6 months...which should bring my levels down to normal levels. Did they tell you that you had high levels of it?

I have been taking it for 1.5 years now and it lowers my DHEAS levels. I take it along with Metformin and was told to take both until I get a BFP.

my RE mentioned me taking it also next cycle, but didn't specify what duration.

Hmm....I only take it during my IVF cycle - while I'm on Lupron and stims. I'm not sure why though.....

No, I have not been tested for DHEAS levels.  My RE has not doing ANY b/w except for my progesterone levels to see if I O'd.

 It's weird.

I asked about it the first time I saw him, but he said there was no need because we can a strong confirmation of PCOS from my ultrasound.

That's been the only thing that's really bothered me so far about this whole thing - as far as the care I'm getting.
