I think I want to ask for a new lens for Christmas - if you do a lot of portraits, which lens do you prefer? Right now I shoot everything with a Tamron 18-200.
(I have a Nikon camera.)
go for the Nikon 50mm 1.4f.
This lens rock but two things:
1. It only manually focuses on the D40 and D60
2. Its a stationary lenes, it doesn't zoom in or out, which means you have to move yourself to the distance you please
Both can be tricky but the results are worth it. The sig below is taken with the similar 1.8f (but go for the 1.4)
