question about HSG shot....

I am starting my HSG shot tonight (I was triggered friday at the RE's office) and have a question about where to aim the shot...should I aim it on the side that I ovulated on?  I know which  ovary was my dominant ovary...
After 2 years of IF, and moving forward with adoption we were thrilled to discover we were pregnant with no intervention in 2009. Miss Molly joined our family in February 2010 and we could not be more in love with our little angel. Lilypie Second Birthday tickers blog www.grumpysnickles.com

Re: question about HSG shot....

  • do you mean Hcg? if so, what do you mean you were triggered on friday?

  • oops yea I meant HCG.  I was triggered on friday with an HSG shot to ovulate, and instead of using progesterone to supplement my cycle I am doing 3 additional HCG injections tonight, thursday, and sunday to help promote a happy uterus for implantation.

  • AHHHH!!! Ok, well I do not think that the side makes a difference. As long as it gets in there you will be fine. put it in the upper outer quadrant of your butt/hip area.
  • You are doing a sub Q if I remember from your earlier posts. It doesn't matter where you place it, the Hcg will do it's thing no matter what side. You should however rotate the shots each day, that helps it from getting irritated.

    Good luck!

A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
