DH and I were talking and we were thinking that we don't really have Christmas morning traditions that we can pass on to our children. Anyone want to share theirs?
Last year we started reading the Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve. In my family we always let whoever was up pilfer their stockings, but actual presents were off-limits until everyone was awake. We'll do that.
I dunno, nothing big. Big breakfast, lots of loafing in pjs and just hanging out.
We get a silver bell with the year engraved on it and then the most important/special event from that year on the other side. My MIL does it for us just like her MIL did it for her every year of her marriage. We also cute the bottom 2 inches off our tree trunk, put a picture of the family in front of the tree on one side and then burn in the year on the other side. The bells and Christmas logs go on our mantle.

Thanks! I was thinking of some cinnamon buns for the morning or some other special breakfast idea.
Funny, cokt... I had my DH cut a piece off of the tree and intended to do something with it. I love your idea of a picture and year.
