chex mix

so DHs favorite wintertime snack is when I make homemade chex mix.  Everything was onsale at the store today, so I went ahead and bought it all to surprise him.  Well, the recipe on the back is microwave!!!!  How crappy, so now I have to look up how long it takes to cook in the oven.  Its so dumb that they have a microwave recipe, it can't taste nearly as good!

ok vent over :)

Re: chex mix

  • Its because everyone is in such a f-ing hurry these days. I think that is incredibly stupid, kinda makes you miss the good old days!

  • If you go on their website, they have the oven option listed in the recipe. Lam that you have to go to the website to find it, but at least it's there. I'm pretty sure it bakes for like an hour and a half or so. I might have to make some now. That sounds REALLY good.
  • I have been thinking about making chex mix lately.  I have never done it before... your post is making me hungry and it making me want to try it out!
  • I tried the microwave version and it wasn't very good.  I needed something to take to a party when I still wasn't feeling well in the first tri and I thought microwave chex mix sounded easy.  Totally not worth it!

late, but it is for an hour and stir every 15 minutes. I think the oven is 250 degrees. I make it a lot.
