Hey!! I've been reading about the eye-fi card and have asked for one for christmas.  I was wondering if you've used it yet and what you thought?  I'm hoping to love it!

Just wanted to follow up and see what you thought. thanks for sharing! I'm really excited about it. I just spent the last 3 hours downloading all the pics on my computer and up into shutterfly. ugh.

I have used it, and it works really well. I have a Mac and I have them automatically downloaded to iphoto on my computer. I have the Eye-Fi Share. I don't have it set up to dl to a photosharing site yet, but it is super easy to do. You just have to check a box next to the site you want your pics downloaded to.

It's such a good idea! The only thing is you have to have your camera on for the pics to dl...I *think it may have to be within a reasonable distance to the computer (not sure)..but either way, it's not a big deal.

That's great news!! I sent the link to my DH for my present this year.  I was having a hard time thinking of something for myself this year and this is such a great idea and right up my alley.  I think i'm getting the Share, as well.  Buy.com had them 40% off! even better!  Price shopped my own gift! LOL.  well, even i can just put my camera down and walk away, that's still better than sitting here for hours doing it! i hate that part and i'm such a picture taker.... next on my list... Nikon SLR. 

I wanted to ask... what kind of camera do you have.  I thought i read somewhere that it was only compatible w/the Nikon D60, not the D40.  Just wondered if you had either of those..... I want a Mac as well! LOL. THat's next on my list too! :-)

I have a Canon Powershot, I think. It's just a small, basic, camera. I think I read the cards on not compatible with cameras that take those "special" kind of SD cards. Do you know what I'm talking about? Because I obvoiusly don't...haha.

Ugh....how much did you get yours for? DH paid $100 for mine! That is nuts if we could have gotten one for like $60!

 As soon as I turn my camera on, the pics start to dl onto my computer. It's so cool. Isn't it weird how people don't seem to know they exist? I had no clue until DH got me one for my bday and everyone I tell had no idea either! I wonder if they will be super common soon?

They are normally 99.99, but we got it from buy.com for 59.77!  I hate to tell you that. :-)  Although I haven't received it in the mail yet, so we'll see! ha.  I think i know what you're talking about the special SD cards.  They're SDHC (or something like that).  i have no idea what they are, but read the the newest eye-fi card isn't compatible with the standard SD card, only the "special" ones! ha. 

Well, i forwarded the buy.com link to everyone i know, giving them ideas.  So, I'm helping spread the word.  I was reading some reviews from 2006, so i can't believe we haven't heard about them before now.  Although now, maybe they've worked out all the kinks and we can reap the rewards! ha.

They have been around for YEARS? wtf? How does no one know about them? It seems everyone should have one...esp since the price is so reasonable!

No, i haven't heard a thing about them and i'd like to think i'm on the up and up w/most technology,etc... especially about pictures! ha.  I've been researching the Nikon D40 all night and it looks like I may have hope for the 4gb Eye fi card. the Nikon says it's compatible w/the regular SD as well as SDHC.  either way, i'm hoping the 2 gb card will at least work.  crossing my fingers.  I think i've pretty much made my mind up on the D40, and found a great price of 499 for the camera and 2 lenses (which the nesties on decorating/renovating board says is great)... so, i wrote my note to Santa and we'll see if i get it!  I'm so darn excited.  up unitl a week ago i couldnt even think of anything i wanted this year! ha.  my dh is probably wishing he didn't ask! HA!

I would love a D40...my only issue with cameras like that is their size. I know I prob would not tote it out and about with me bc I always have so much other stuff to carry (plus 2 toddlers). I need something small....although it sucks bc my camera really does not take great pictures.

I thought I was fairly up to date, too...but I guess not! You have to page me when you get it and tell me if you like it!

I will definitely let you know if I get it and if I like it.  I'm kind of worried about the same thing about carrying it around, but figure i still i have my point and shoot i can throw in my purse if i'm going out on the town or something (like that ever happens! LOL).  I would just love to have these beautiful clear prints like i see on here...i'm jealous! :-)  I think i just found a great deal for Santa, so i'll let you know!!
