I asked my Dr about checking at the lest appointment and he said they like to leave it alone unless you are having contractions.  He said they dont want to irritate it and start something that didnt need to be started and wouldnt check without contractions til 36 weeks.  Just one Drs opinion for you.

OK, that totally makes sense. VERY good to know. Thanks! I had heard that w/singletons but since my previous practice was checking, I wondered.  (They were very high-intervention though and the new OB is low-intervention. I was just wondering if this was one intervention that would be helpful or not.)
