This post cracks me up! We actually have a pickle ornament- my aunt got us a collection of glass ornaments and one was in there. I had no idea there was a "tradition" behind the pickle. I always thought hide the pickle was a sexual innuendo! At least that's what DH and I have turned it into when we put it on the tree! hehe

Oh we have dirty minds!   But I am sure that we could come up with a holiday tradition that we call "hide the pickle" and make it sexual between us and our DH's  hehe!

But seriously..you can get all sizes of these pickels...from ones that are tiny like your pinky finger and larger....they are a neat way to give a random gift at holiday parties or family gatherings....esp if your guests are not expecting it....then they won't be spending all night looking for it before the game begins.

Lurker here, but Hide the Pickle is a Norwegian tradition. Not dirty :-) In our family, the pickle gift...is a pickle ornament! DH always wants to make it dirty, hanging the pickle up with the mistletoe instead of the on the tree!
