Just found out today that we are having twins!  We're a little shocked but very happy!  Wanted to introduce myself instead of just lurking around.  Any advice on how to handle two babies at once would be much appreciated because no one in our families has twins!

Hi and welcome!

Our twins are nearly 2 weeks old so I don't have a lot of advice other than if someone offers to help be prepared to accept it.  The best gifts people are giving us are food and coming over to clean our house.  All of our time is spent on the babies.

I also see you are in Mill Creek -- please come join us on the Seattle Babies board too.  We have several twin mommies on there and we can help with any questions you have around local resources/support.

Oh -- and get yourself a copy of Dr. Barbara Luke's book -- it will really help with your diet to help grow those two babies nice and big!

Congrats on the exciting news! I remember all the mixed emotions on the day and the days following finding out twins. Luckly there are so many wonderful ladies on this board who have gone through the same shock, fear, excited, and every other emotion there is. The morning following our news I posted on here and they were able to offer so much support and advice and it has really helped me through this pregnancy. Good luck and congrats again!

I ditto the suggestion of Dr. Luke's book. I also am reading and liking the book Mothering Multiples. Also, the forums on www.twinstuff.com are a great resource as well.

Congratulations and welcome to this board.  My only advice is to use this board!  There are so many twin (or more) mommies on here that have been through what you are going (and going to go) through - both the good and the bad.  Again congrats!
