33w appt

Both babies are now vertex!! I am so happy! (They were both breech for a long time, then both vertex for about 4 weeks, but Baby B had been breech again since 30w.

Also looks like Baby A has had a major growth spurt. Their last growth scan was at the 30w5d appt (they just had BPPs at 31w5d). Then Baby A was 3lb 9 oz and Baby B 3lb 11 oz. Today Baby A was measuring 5lb 2 oz! And Baby B just 4lb 7oz. Basically, A is a week ahead of their gestational age (33w2d) and B is a week behind, so they are two weeks apart. It was weird since their measurements have been within 2 oz of each other since 20w, but the OB wasn't concerned since they're both in the normal range. (I did the math and it's a 13% difference.)

Also, Baby B was showing off his face so nicely that the OB did a 3D u/s pic of him! This was the first 3D pic we've gotten so that was exciting. :) (A's head is too low for a good face shot though.)

  • What a great appointment!!  You just gave me hope that B can still switch from Breech to Vertex.

  • Congrats!  Amazingly, we had a similar result at our 33wk appt. Baby A also had a major growth spurt, and this was also the first time that we had any sort of real discordance in size (before they were always a few ounces apart).  So maybe this is a common trend at this stage?  Baby A was 5lb 7 oz and Baby B was 4lbs 11 oz. The docs said that their discordance in size was 12-15%, somewhere in there. They were not at all concerned about the difference in size, since both babies were above average size for their age.  Thank goodness our babies are growing well!!
  • That's good to hear, HGRogers! Thanks for sharing your experience. You've got some good-sized babies! :)

  • Hopefully they stay that way for you. My little turkeys are always switching positions on me. A few weeks ago I had an NST on Tuesday and baby a was vertex and b was breech, Thursday I had my growth scan with my peri and they were both vertex, then on friday one was breech and the other was transverse. They like to keep things interesting.
