Jogging Strollers

I am deciding between the BOB and the Jeep one from BRU.  I like that the Jeep one has speakers... I like listening to music, but don't feel comfortable using headphones when I have Caroline with me.  I'll probably just be running in my neighborhood (sidewalks) and possibly some 5K's that allow strollers.  Please share your experiences with either one... TIA

Re: Jogging Strollers

  • You cannot go wrong with the Bob. It is so easy to push. We have the double jogger and it is still super easy push. I never run with music so I am no help with that type of feature.

  • I have the BOB Revolution and really like it. A lot of the reviews for the Jeep one said they had problems with the wheels. I love how sturdy the BOB is and how smooth it rides for Colin it is also very easy to push. GL deciding.

  • We have the BOB revolution AW (one with all three wheels 12") and love it. ?It's our everyday stroller. ?Handles great. No complaints except that it doesn't lock closed, but I've gotten used to it. ?

My brother has the Jeep and wishes he'd have gone ahead and spent a little more for the BOB. ?We got ours brand new on ebay or REI has sales/coupons sometimes.?

  • I have the BOB Ironman.  It has stiffer shocks and bigger (16") road tires.  I love it because we live intown and the roads and sidewalks can be bumpy and uneven.  I started taking Colin out in it when he was only 2 weeks old and he never moved, no matter the bumps and hills.  I use it only for running though, b/c the front wheel doesn't swivel like their other models.
  • We have the BOB revolution and I love it!  I've been running with Merritt since she was 3 weeks old and it handles great - that is, once you get used to running with one hand on a stroller.  I run with headphones, but I keep the volume really, really low.  Plus, Merritt isn't old enough to be in the jogger without the carseat, so she's facing me the whole time and I can see how she's doing.  I also run opposite traffic and I'm super vigilant about checking around me.  The speakers might be a nice touch, but I think I would be embarassed by my neighbors hearing the music.

  • BOB Revolution here!  Both DH and I love ours.  We ran in a 5K with it and it did great.  VirginiaandAlan came up to Gwinnett with Merritt and did it with us.  I love the swivel front wheel for walking.  Its the BEST stroller ever even though it is a little big and pricey.  Be sure to get the accessories.
  • Does the swivel wheel make it harder to control on runs?  From what I've read, you should get a stable wheel if you are running with it?

  • Not to worry about the swivel wheel.  You can lock it for runs.  Its really easy to use.  Also, I will also say that Polly typically loves being pushed in the stroller as long as she isn't hungry!  We haven't made it to the park in a while due to the cold weather, though.  :(
  • If you want to try one out before you buy you can stroll ours around the neighborhood sometime :)
  • I have the Jeep stroller and don't think I would recommend it for real runners.  I don't run, but the few times I have jogged using this stroller, it has felt a little akward.  But since I am mostly a walker, I absolutely love this stroller and the speakers are fantastic.
