our parents horrid 1970's furniture, passed on to DH and me, are now our kids furniture.... lol
But if we were in the market, I'd figure out the style we wanted and see if some stores are better for that. But I would have in mind decent quality to last for many many many years. And then I'd be on all the local furniture websites because there have got to be INSANE deals with the $hit economy.
Get her something she can have when she graduates college and is on her own! OR, i suppose, something you'd want for a guest room.
we saw what we wanted at oneclickfurniture.com and took the pricing with us to a local furniture store who special ordered our set for us. The store by us originally wanted 1500.00 more for the entire set but then pricematched and also gave us free delivery and set up just like oneclickfurniture would have. But, we have a place close by if there was ever any problems (which we did have because there was a big chunk of wood taken out of the side of the dresser when it was delivered).
I looked everywhere for DD's. I didn't want to spend a fortune and DH was being really insanely picky about stuff he didn't want. Seriously, he left about 3 styles because he didn't want a sleigh bed, a bookcase headboard, etc, etc, etc. It was nuts. Anyway, I looked at Target, RoomStore, JCPenney, Ikea, and tons of stuff online (just googled kids bedroom set). We just ordered from furniturebuzz.com - I hope it turns out well!
