Night 2 of Operation Eat Your Farking Dinner

Not going well. For the love of all that is holy. This child has been in her highchair for an hour. Refuses to eat 1/2 of a pot sticker and cooked apples. Did the exact same thing last night, but actually gobbled the apples after an hour and finally figuring out she loved them.

I am beyond frustrated with her food issues. Eat your farking dinner. I want to scream at the top of my lungs. Every fuckingnight for 28 months. Every feeding. Every night. So she's a shit because she's hungry and refuses to eat. So.sick.of.it.

  • what would happen if you just let her go without eating?
  • Keep posting your progress, or lack thereof.  I'm living the same thing.

  • I think that's pretty normal for toddlers! ?Our pediatrician told us not to get into a battle of wills over it b/c we as parents will never win. ?This has some good tips: ?https://kidshealth.org/parent/nutrition_fit/nutrition/toddler_meals.html
  • If we let her go w/ out dinner, she'd demand milk before bed. Scream and cry for milk. Then she'd fall asleep. Then she'd wake up sometime between 11 and 2 am crying for milk and getting in bed w/ us. She does this anytime she isn't full enough at night.

Aaannndd she's asleep in the highchair.

  • I would just let it go.  DS eats well at best about 1x/day.  I'm not sure if you have weight gain issues or something though.  Maybe that's why you're making such a big deal about it.

  • we xp'd.  I would give her milk before bed (why not?) as well as a filling snack.  Maybe she's just not hungry at dinner time.  Maybe she's overwhelmed or something.

Aw.  ds won't eat when he's tired either.  maybe go for early dinner instead of late snack.

  • No weight issue, but I know she'll wake up for milk. She drinks way too much of it. A few months ago, she was going through a gallon in 2 1/2 days. It's been a huge battle to get her to eat food for dinner instead of 24 oz of milk for a meal.
