We actually had to call them. ?I never would have known had I not been part of this board. ?Our pedi said nothing and our NICU said DS probably wouldn't qualify. ?Thank goodness they were wrong and we now get OT, PT, and eventually ST weekly!
I was contacted by an EI representative and I hadn't heard anything about them from the NICU. She came by my apartment to evaluate DS and we didn't qualify for any services, but she did have us sign up for a "follow along" program so that they could monitor DS's progress in case he needed them later.
they just came to my house today. They called us about a month ago, a nurse came and had to do some test to evaluate if they actually need it. They failed 2 parts of the test so they got the referral. Today a lady from the County came to fill out some papers (it took 1 1/2 hrs). She did say that for early intervention ?anyone can make a referral (parent, hospital, Doctors..etc).?
I had to call them. They are coming this morning to evaluate.

Zeidy and I live in the same county, so she kindly gave me some information on how to start. I called them today, and they are sending someone out to evaluate him. I had to reach out myself, no one contacted us.
Re: Early intervention
Really? Our PT in the NICU said that she was going to contact them and they would call us. Did you just look up your state's info online then?
