DS has been on antibiotics for ear infections. Now he has a horrible diaper rasht hat just developed today at daycare. He screamed when I used baby wipes.
Depends... if it's a plain old diaper rash, use Triple Paste, NOTHING works better. But since he is on antibiotics, it could be a yeast rash... in which case you need a prescription. Is it red, raised bumps? If so, it'a likely yeast and you should call the dr.
You don't need a prescription (and Nystatin only works about half the time). Just get Lotrimin for athlete's foot-- generic clotrimazole. Clears it right up.

If Triple Paste doesn't do the job after a couple days, it's most likely yeast. Then you'd use Lotrimin 2x/day. If that doesn't work, ask about a potential prescription antifungal cream.
Re: need diaper rash remedy ASAP
so far the rash is just all around red, like a bad sunburn but nothing raised
I have aquaphor already, I'll have DH pick up Maalox
