We don't have a bathtub in this house. We planned to redo our bathroom this year, but now that I am not working, we are reconsidering dropping the 10K needed for this project. We hope that MH's job is stable, but you just don't know in this economy.
Anyway, do you shower *with* the 2yo? Or do you keep the shower door open and use the removeable shower head? Do you get wet?
Any advice? She currently bathes in the kitchen sink and is getting too big.
Re: Does your 2 yo shower?
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
We always ask Benjamin if he wants to take a shower or a bath. Nine times out of ten, he'll choose the bath, but he likes showers, too.
He'll either shower with me (not ideal, for me), or I'll use the removable head and let him splash around with that while I suds him up quickly.
Some days I get wet. Others, I don't...
He's been showering with me for ages... maybe since 17 months or so?
He plays at my feet while I get clean, and then we hose him off. It's a lot quicker than separate baths.

I shower every once in a while with dd - she loves it. I shower too, so it accomplishes 2 things at once. While I'm getting clean, I put a big glob of shaving cream on the shower wall. She plays with it like finger paint. Now, this may not be for everyone b/c she hasn't attempted to eat it or put it in her eyes but it works for us!
And I don't have a removable shower head - i just fill up a cup with shower water and use that to rinse.

Good to know that it is possible. I am going to try it before spending all that cash on a bathtub
We shower with the kids --- we have a huge shower though.
At any rate, I wouldn't let a 2 year old shower by themselves so I would just get in with her.
We got the bathtub letters from Target for about five bucks. He loves to stick them onto the shower walls while I am washing my hair.

My DD showers, she has since she was about 8 months old. She has a few toys, a shower cabbage patch kid, a cup, and some things that stick to the wall. She plays while I shower and then I wash her. She is old enough now that she can stay in and play while I get dressed.
It is fast and easy. I have showere her by herself. I just have her come over, soap her up, then let her rince, then do the same with her hair. My mother uses one of those shower head removable shower things to wash her when she keeps her, since she doesn't like to shower with her.
