Can I puree frozen corn?

My mom left a new bag of frozen corn here over Thanksgiving. We'll never eat it. Can I thaw it and make corn puree for DD, do you think? Ugh, the thought makes me want to gag. But we do have Beech Nut corn for stage 2, so corn must be okay, right?

Re: Can I puree frozen corn?

  • Corn puree does sound gross doesn't it?

I have given DD corn and sweet potato puree and she liked it.  I think it would be fine to thaw and puree.

  • Well, I've made puree out of frozen peas.  I don't see why you couldn't do the same with corn.  However, corn is fairly harsh on the stomach.  I don't think I'd want to give it to my daughter.
  • One of Zachary's favorites is butternut squash pureed with corn.
  • You can (I eat creamed corn so I don't think puree would be much different) but it's difficult to digest, can cause diarrhea and isn't recommended until after 1 year because it's high on the allergen list and low in nutritional value (according to wholesomebabyfood).

  • I thought corn was a HUGE no no because its one of the top allergens.
