Sterilizing Playtex bottles?

The instructions say not to boil them. Anyone tried boiling them anyways? Or can I just hand wash them before the first use?

    My DH did not reac the directions and boiled them and they totally melted!  Since the milk never touches the bottle because of the dro-in, it's competely OK to just hand wash.  You can still boil the nipples and ring though before you use.

    I put the tops and nipples in my avent sterilizer and don't put the body... the liners are pre sterilized.

    I've boiled both my playtex drop ins and vent aire with no issues.
