Yes, most of the time. Although right now it's winter so I just put a new one in the cabinet. But see, I'm in Florida so things are different here. We also keep our bread in the fridge.
Funny you should ask....i just ready in a cookbook today that if you refridgerate it it maintains freshness. but man that sounds like no fun to spread!
We use plain old Skippy and recently started keeping it in the fridge b/c these mysterious ants keep finding it. They come out of nowhere and only attack the PB. It isn't that difficult to spread and doesn't taste any different to me.

No...it gets all hard to spread. Cabinet only for us.
We also keep ketchup in the cabinet...not sure why. That's DH's thing. LOL.

Ours is in the fridge- we eat the natural kind and the oils separate if you keep it out.
