My flameful confession of the night...

I was all set to reuse Noah's bedding for #2 (it's alphabet soup, so neutral).  Now that I know I am having a girl, I want something more feminine.  I found super cute bedding at Pottery Barn, and although it is a steal, now is not the time for me to buy it.  We just have so much going on with birthdays, Christmas, Noah's party, 2 upcoming showers, etc.  I sent the link to my mom and she adores it.  I am secretly hoping Maren will get a little Christmas surprise under her "Mimi's" tree.  It is something I could see my mom doing, but I am not counting on it.  If it is gone when I am ready to buy, it's gone.  So bad that I am hoping for that though.

Isn't it cute though?

  • I do that all the time and 99% of the time it works like a charm.

    Good luck!

  • I don't blame you.  I would/will want all new stuff for #2 too.

    And that is adorable.

  • It's super cute! And, don't feel bad. "Mimi" is supposed to spoil her grandchildren. ;)

  • That bedding is adorable!!!  I hope your mom gets it for you!
  • It's really cute and I would have done the exact same thing. Not flameful at all, IMO.

It usually works here too.  I just feel awfully greedy, especially it being Christmas and all.

  • Love it.  I would do the same thing and my mom would buy it too!

  • If Mimi is anything like Nonna, she'll come through :)

It's really adorable!  I love Sofia's PBK bedding.  I hope you get it!

  • Awe that's cute!!!

And I totally did that with stuff for Jake-- I would send my Mom and MIL links all the time. 99% of the time, they got the hint and said "oh! I want to buy that for him!"

    Good luck!

  • Ha. I agree, that's what grandparents are for! And I've done it too, and probably will again if BSF is a boy. :)

  • That's totally something I would do!  I actually did do it for DS #1 :)  All the bedding I wanted went on clearance way before my showers, so I told my mom I wanted the rug for Christmas and she got that and a couple other pieces I hadn't already gotten.  And same as you, if I had had a girl for #2, I would have wanted to make the nursery more feminine...even though it's already fairly gender neutral PBK Farmyard Friends (one of my good friends has the same nursery for her little girl actually).   Hope you get it!

  • DD has the exact same bedding for her new twin bed - it's even cuter in person.

  • That is a really good deal on PBK bedding and cute, too.  I hope you get it :).
