NPR: Recommend your immersion blender

I'm wanting to start cooking more and want to start making soups, etc. I keep looking at immersion blenders and see that they vary widely in price. I'm not sure if the cheap ones work well or not, but I hate to get an expensive one if the less expensive ones would do the job well.

We have a Kitchenaid and it works very well and cleans up easily.
