Best newborn socks?

It is so cold and Maile cannot keep her socks on. We have several different brands, and they still fall off all the time. Ethan and Bella had the same problem, but they were born at the end of winter, so it wasn't so cold. She has really long, thin feet if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Re: Best newborn socks?

  • carters hands down.   I couldn't get any others to stay on her feet.   I'm talking about the ones with the bubble type trim at the top.
  • No clue.. other then, use footed PJ's all the time. Or, maybe buy premie sock, so they are smaller and fit a tad tighter...?

  • Hanna Andersson.... We bought DS like 12 pair when he was born and were able to use them when Emilia was born... they still look new!!!

    Loved them!

  • I've tried Carter's. And I don't think preemie would work. My kids seriously have freakishly long feet. I love the baby gap socks once they get bigger, but they don't start until 12-24 months, I think. That's when my kids could start keeping socks on their feet!
  • In my experience, Trumpette socks have worked best for both of mine.
  • bummer!   carters were really the only ones that would work for dd.   I hope you find some soon!
  • What about putting robeez on over the socks?  That is what I did to keep them on.

  • Smartwool.

DD lived in their baby socks for her first year. They're warm and stayed on well.

  • The ones that worked best for me when they were that little were some cheap brand from Walmart.

Trumpette socks wouldn't stay on dd's feet. They sure were cute, though!  ;)

So, obviously there isn't the perfect sock out there.  I guess it really does depend on your child's foot.

  • Walmart Faded Glory by far!!!!  12 pack for like $5 and they always stay on!

  • the only ones that stayed on PAC's feet were from the gap. I don't know what it is, but he could not kick them off. We also used footie PJs most of the time.

I could try that. I have a few small pairs from Bella.

Now I have a lot of socks to try out!

  • They have grey tipped toe ones and plain white.  LOVE THEM!!!

  • The Baby Gap ones were the only ones we had any luck with. I bought them in bulk from the outlet.
  • ghm--the gap does have newborn socks. They have newborn, 0-3 months, 3-6, 6-12, etc. Unless they stopped making them?

  • We have the layette baby gap socks, and I don't like them. I love the triple fold socks that they have for bigger babies/toddlers.
  • We did great with the Circo double fold socks (the ones that are sold by the pair, not by the pack)  They are like $1.49 a pair at Target.
  • Try the Childrens place newborn booties.  THey were seriously the only things that worked for DD...everything else would fall off of her, therefore defeating the purpose.  We had carters, gap, you name it....none worked. I am stocked up on socks for DS from the childrens place and I have bought nothing else this time.

  • Robeez :) ?The only way either one of my boys has ever kept socks on
  • I love trumpettes.  I sucked it up and bought some more for new baby boy.  They stay on and last a long time.  DD wore them her whole 1st year.  I only had 6 pairs and she wore them everyday.
