Compression socks when flying??

Hello ladies,

Just wondering if you thought compression stockings were necessary when flying?

We're going to New Zealand after Christmas - I'll be 20 weeks - and I've heard of PG women wearing these.

Has anyone used them?  Do they help with the swollen feet, etc?

TIA :-)

Re: Compression socks when flying??

  • I wear them for long flights even when I'm not pregnant, but I have some really bad spider viens in my legs and ankles. It also helps to drink tons of water, and constantly wiggle your feet around (rotate your ankles in circles, point your toes, flex your heels, etc). And of course, get up and walk around every hour or so.

  • I use them any time I fly pregnant or not and yes they help with swelling as well as fatigue.
  • My friend turned me onto these when we were flying to Italy earlier this year and now I wear them on every flight. They really do help!
  • Hey there- I flew to Dallas from Philly last week and was okay. Just be sure to stay hydrated.

I'm sure your flight is much longer though!
