How do you clean hand me downs

My sister wants to give me her play pen and stroller from her 18 month old.  I hesitate to accept anything from her because her boy was in and out of the hospital with respiratory issues including pneumonia.  If I do take these things from her, how can I clean them without using noxious chemicals?

50/50 water and vinegar. The vinegar smell will disappear when it dries. If you can do it outside on a sunny day and let it air out.
