HELP... Are candles toxic to ingest?

My 18 mo old scrapped the top of a small candles she grabbed off a shelf. I smell it on her fingers and around her mouth so I am not positive if she put it in her mouth or not. (it was not alot, there are a few scraps on the candle top) It has been about 30 minutes and seems fine. But anyone know if the wax is toxic or should I call poison control to be safe? I've been googling but can't really find anything.

im sure shell be fine. my 20 month old oddly enough loves to carry around a certain candle and has most likely licked it more than once. and shes still kickin!:)
