Are you getting a crib skirt?

I guess if you're getting a set it would come with it, but what if you want to order a Pottery Barn bumper (on clearance!!) and they don't have a crib skirt available. Do I really need one? will it look funny if I don't have one? Also, are you getting a valance with your set or are you going to get one on your own?

my PBK set did not come with a skirt... if we get one, i'll just get a solid matching color.  We will also get a couple valances on our own, probably solid as well.

I have a bedding set that came with a skirt and a valance. I don't think it would look funny without one but I really do like the way it looks with one...it just seems more cute. you could get a plain solid colored one that matches the bumper you get.

The set also comes with a valence but I will be making my own curtans to go with it.

I just got my bedding from PBK and they were all separates. My mom actually bought it all and got the crib skirt. You could always buy one somewhere else in a solid color that matches your bedding. With our crib there is a drawer underneath, so i dont think that we actually need one but since she bought one we will pry use it. Set up your crib with the bedding and see how it looks.

I am not getting a bed set because it comes with so much that I would just not use. So I registered for colored sheets, a white bumper, and a white bed skirt since the white bumper and white bet skirt will go with any color sheet or blanket.

For you, you could either get a white bed skirt at like BRU or pick out a color that is in your bumper and get a bed skirt that is cheap that matches.?

I have a bed skirt on mine and like the way it looks.  You can always look on Ebay for a matching one or just buy a solid one that matches.  I got DD's bedding from PBK on clearance and they didn't have the sheets so I got them on Ebay.

My set came with a skirt, but there is no way I would get a matching valance. I don't like things so matchy-matchy. How gay did that sound?

I think it depends on the crib.  My crib has a drawer underneath it, but there's nothing on top of the drawer to prevent you from seeing into it - without a crib skirt, the contents of the drawer would be visible.  We're doing bedding separates, and my crib is the main reason I'm going to get a bed skirt.
