DH and I are looking for cribs online, Walmart, Ikea, Baby's R US. What kind of crib did you get and where? And did you get a convertible one for a full size bed later on or just a standard crib and why?
Bought it at BRU. ?Convertible one from Baby Cache because it got great ratings and was on clearance! ?I would never have spent the money on it, had it not been on clearance. ?
When I was looking for a crib one of my main "have to haves" was a convertable one. this is because the money I spent would be good for longer in my child's life.
The one i got changes into a todler ed and then into a full size bed so it will last the whole time my child lives with us. I also got the dresser set that matches the crib and it has an area for a changing pad and then later looks just like a normal dresser so the whole bedroom set can grow with my daughter
we got ours at a baby furniture warehouse around us... we got a 4 in 1 for the reason that it's expensive furniture and we would like it to last longer than 2-3 years...

We're going to get the Jardine Olympia Convretible from BRU. We planned on a convertible from the start, picked one we liked with pretty good reviews, and one the future grandparents okay'd for purchase :-)

It is a convertible, but that was not a priority. It just happened to be the one we liked. If it survives babyhood, then we will use it for a while, if not, it's ok too.

I bought the Da Vinci Roxanne for DD on minitots.com. It came super fast and they always have coupon codes floating around online. The crib itself is great. It does convert to a toddler bed but we didn't buy the converter kit as we (obviously) planned to have more children and continue using it as a crib.
We got our crib at this great little store that works directly w/manufacturers and gets really good deals (plus free delivery and setup). The crib we ended up with is from Stanley, the Young America line. If we'd had to pay retail prices, we'd never had bought it because it would have been far too pricey.
We ended up getting a convertible crib. I'm short, so a drop side crib was something we considered, but those cribs didn't feel as sturdy. One thing to note with the convertibles - if you go this route, try not to get a crib made out of a softer wood (like Pine). Some kids tend to chew on their cribs ~ if you go with a convertible crib, you may be living with teeth marks all over their bed for years to come!

We bought the Harper crib from Pottery Barn Baby.
