2nd Trimester

what do you think about this?

so my baby is a boy and my EDD is 4/17.  My nephew is 4 and was born in March.  My sister is giving us all her clothes from him (she has a new baby, but he is exactly 6 months off his brothers age, so all his baby clothes have to be new cause they are the wrong season).  She wants me to put this message on my registry so people don't just buy me clothes since I will have a TON of clothes from her:

Thanks to cousins Jackson and Carter, we are all set for clothes!

I really WANT to put this on there, and I feel like its the lease rude way to say it, but I want a objective opinion.  Thanks!

Re: what do you think about this?

  • I had something (not as cute) along those lines on there and both my mother and MIL stated how tacky it was - so I took it down.  I thought it was ok though.  I guess my post probably wont help, but maybe its a generational thing??

  • I personally wouldn't consider it all rude. I would rather get you something you need and I would hope that your family and friends would too.?
  • The people that buy clothes that are not located on the registry probably won't even look at the registry. Many people just buy what they want without checking out what you requested. Maybe your sister could put something on the sheets of paper that list where your registered, this could be included with the shower invites.
  • I think it's a perfect way to say it--super nice but to the point.... I'd leave it on there as it is!

  • Personally, I wouldn't say anything on the registry. My thing with registries is that if people are actually pulling your registry to shop from, you shouldn't have to worry as much about what they are going to buy. It's the people who don't pull your registry to begin with that you have to worry about. LOL

  • Oh i do not think this is rude at all!! People would rather get you what you need! I would definitely add this to your registry. And the way you stated it is absolutely appropriate.

  • My cousin gave me all her onesies that are like new, so I put this message on my registry:

We will not need an onesies or bodysuits as we already have enough for the baby's first year.

I honestly think what you are saying is just perfect.

  • I don't think it's tacky at all, but as pp's said, don't count on it working. People who want to buy clothes most likely aren't even going to look at your registry. And, the people who really want to buy clothes will probably do so anyway. :) I think a lot of people have more fun with that.
It might be fun to get some new clothes :)
